What research is being done to treat Genital Herpes disease? |
What research is being done to treat Genital Herpes disease? Every day scientists do research to find medication to treat herpes and for a vaccine, just like any other virus out there today. There are currently three oral medications and one topical medication (cream) to help prevent future outbreaks and lessen the severity when a person does have an outbreak. Acyclovir (Zovirax), famciclovir (Famvir), and valacyclovir (Valtrex) are all used to treat genital herpes. Acyclovir (Zovirax ointment) can also be used. There is NO cure for herpes, just treatment. Source(s): Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years. Ask Paris Hilton, she has the Heptitis C. you can look it up on the web. herpes is a virus not a disease There is actually a doctor in Arkansas who has successfully treated many hundreds of herpes patients. There is a site that has taken some of his findings and told about them in a report that is put out for genital warts, because his findings are equally beneficial for people with genital warts. http://www.genitalwartsreport.com... - The Genital Warts Report also talks about the doctors treatments that have been used for herpes, but it is not the entire focus of the report http://www.famvir.com/index.jsp?source=0... |
