Is it ok to get pregnant whilst you suffer genital herpes? |
Is it ok to get pregnant whilst you suffer genital herpes? That is a question best answered by andOB/Gyn practitioner. Basically, there are issues (risk factors) associated with this condition, mostly as they relate to the birthing process. Mainly potential risks associated with newborn exposure and the risk of infection. It does not mean you cant have kids, on the contrary you can. It just means the your providers need to be aware of the situation so that they can observe and medically manage your case. There is a potential that you might need a C-section as opposed to a normal vaginal delivery, but that is not really a big deal, especially compared to the welfare of your baby. Best thing you can do is ask the professionals If you are pregnant and you-have genital herpes, you will want to talk with your obstetrician or midwife about how to manage the infection and minimize the risk to your baby. http://www.herpes.com/pregnancy.shtml... yes, but you'll probably have to have a c-section. they'll tell you that you only have to do that if you are having a flair up...but I'm pretty sure I've heard that pregnancy makes herpes flair up....so I would expect c-section. Sorry to hear about the herpes...that's nasty. I guess its deadly i don't want anyone to do that |
