Has anyone ever had a girlfriend/boyfriend who had genital herpes and one partner didn't? How did it work out? |
I just started to date someone I really like who told me the other night that she has genital herpes...I was taken a back by it, because I don't have the virus...I want to see if there are other couples/people out there who have had a relationship knowing this situation and how did it work out...how was it emotionally, how was it physically...I am trying to gather up some feedback because I am at a crossroads... humm, the question to ask yourself is do you want the possibility of getting the virus? Sure you can practise safe sex but there are still possibilities. I congratualte the girl who told you, she was honest and that means she is a good person. Its a tough question, if you decide not to date her please be honest with her and your fears and thank her for beign honest. remember she is a person too and she too has to deal with having the virus and dating. it has not happend to me but I knowo of it they just use condoms and the other partner might have it but it just has not showed up yet My fiance has herpes. When first told, instead of being upset about it, I was extremely supportive and loving. We have a fabulous sex life, with protection of course, but overall very satisfying. Emotionally it was up and down for me for a few months, but deep inside my fiance is a wonderful man who treats me like a princess and I'm blessed to have him in my life. If you think she could be the one, then you can accept her as is. If you are not sure if she's the one you want in your life, then say so to her. But however, if you cannot handle the fact that she does have herpes then leave now before she becomes too emotionally involved with you. Do NOT tell her it's because of her std. She has got her own set of ups and downs with having to tell everyone she plans on seeing without you or someone else rubbing it in her face that her std is the reason you cannot continue to see her. Be a little sympathetic. She's having a tough time and I'm sure it was more than hard / embarrassing to have to tell you. i think you are very lucky she told u .....i was also wit a guy with the same prob but i noticed them on him b4 he did.......but i loved him so we stayed together still to this day dont know if he got them from cheatin as i noticed em 3mths after we started going out but we stayed together for a yr and a half but our sex life did suffer! When we broke up in the end it was nothing to do with them! I have herpes and I've been in sexual relationships with people who did and people who did not have herpes. I've never passed the virus on and I don't use any protection, which isn't very wise, but since all my partners were aware of my situation and I educated them and they were still willing to go sans condoms, I figured they were adult enough to make their own decisions. I麓m in the same situation, if u want to chat this is my msn cin_ddya5@yahoo.com hi..i got it off an ex,it was so painful i wudnt wish it on anybody they say it stays with u 4 ever and there is no cure,but i got it 2 yrs ago and havnt suffered with it since. i met my new fella who iv been with for 1 and a half years,and told him everything.we dont use condoms as trying for a baby,and he hasnt caught a thing,he has even been for tests and nothing!! |
