You should wash your hands before touching your genitals and use a different towel. You can get genital or oral herpes on either area. You should see a doctor if you are worrid and get an Rx for Valtrex. People can get the pink bump oral herpes on their mouths and their genitals and can get the ulcerous genital form of herpes on both places, too. Make sure not to touch your cold sore and do not touch your mouth or let your saliva contact your eyes or genitals. The Mayo Clinic website is really great with lots of information. Mayo Clinic is a world reknowned and prestigious medical center. Click the 3rd link I'm providing. Its says wash your hands often and be careful touching other parts of your body because you CAN spread the virus. Also, the planned parenthood website cautions that herpes can be very dangerous to infants, so do not kiss a baby until your sores are gone. Herpes is a leading cause of blindness so be careful not to spread herpes to your eyes.
