Is it true that the Lip treatment for cold sores "abreva" will work on genital herpes as well?

Well, Coldsores are a for of Herpes too, but a different strain. I doubt it'd work...

I would just go to the doctor....instead of trying a topical ointment for something that serious...I've seen commercials isn't there a oral med for that ?
It didn't even work for my coldsore. I got another one while treating the first one. Don't mess around with genital herpes. They'll spread if you don't take care of them.
