Hi any one. I am at work my mate has just phoned and said she has got Genital Herpes. Wot the h*ll is it.? |
She says she has a really high temperature, she has been to nhs direct and they have given her anti-biotic, is this how they treat it, I have never heard of it, can some one enlighten me please, I think she is lying dont you lot. She says doctor says she is not to work for a week, is she skiving, I hate being here on my own. Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by the herpes simplex viruses type 1 (HSV-1) and type 2 (HSV-2). Most genital herpes is caused by HSV-2. Most individuals have no or only minimal signs or symptoms from HSV-1 or HSV-2 infection. When signs do occur, they typically appear as one or more blisters on or around the genitals or rectum. The blisters break, leaving tender ulcers (sores) that may take two to four weeks to heal the first time they occur. Typically, another outbreak can appear weeks or months after the first, but it almost always is less severe and shorter than the first outbreak. Although the infection can stay in the body indefinitely, the number of outbreaks tends to decrease over a period of years. It is like a cold sore on the mouth, sort of a watery sore that takes days to heal only it's in the private area. With Herpes you have outbreaks over and over. there are meds to help reduce the number of outbreaks but no cure. Antibiotics are not used for herpes. Antibiotics are for bacterial infection. Herpes is spread by sexual contact. that shiz is gross. As above - clearly explained. Is something she'll need to tell her gaenocologist if she's ever going to have a kid as it can potentially cause complications at birth. Otherwise, something she'll just continue to get from time to time. A google search should provide you with more info. sounds like your not the only dude hitting that hole!!
