If you are infected with the herpes virus (genital) does this mean your partner was recently with someone else No. You could have contracted the virus a long time ago and just never showed any signs or symptoms of it. For some people, it can take several months and even years to get an outbreak once they have been infected. But, it can also mean that the other person cheated, so you shouldn't necessarily rule that out. Source(s): Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for 6 years. It only means that one of your partners has genital herpes and either did not know it or did not bother to tell you. Yes you got it from having sex with someone but as to who gave it to you that you will have to try to figure out on your own., You do need tell all of your previous partners that you have it so they can get tested if they haven't been tested. Not necessarily. It may mean that, but it may also mean that your partner may have been infected with the virus and didn't know it. And by not getting regular screenings, he may not have had any symptoms but still given it to you. I'm not ruling out the cheating option though! |
