Glaucoma Evaluation?

The eye doc says I need to come back for a glaucoma evaluation, should I be worried?

No. What they do is test the pressure in your eye. It's a simple procedure where they shine a light in your eye, but it comes pretty close and slightly touches the eye, so you have to keep from blinking. It's really hard for some people to do, but it only lasts a second. Even if they do find you have glaucoma, there are a lot of medicines to treat it and prevent it from getting worse. Chances are, though, you probably don't have it. Good luck!

my mom has glaucoma and I have had the test they just blow air in your eyes to check for something. my mom has had glaucoma for several years.

No, I don't know why they didn't do it while you were there the first time. It is a simple test but should be done every year.
It is the one where they numb your eye and the device touches your eye to measure the pressure.

No probelm just go and there is no worry even if you have it. As there is effective treatment that fixes it now. It is when you don't go and anyway you might just find out that the doctor wants to give you annual check. You might not even have anything.

No, but do have the evaluation. And let me give you a little tip, don't trust the "puff machine." The evaluation needs to be done by an ophthalmologist (an MD who specializes in diseases of the eye) who dilates your eyes and looks into them with a special light. Don't settle for less.

Usually glaucoma is screened during an eye exam. Most doctors use a machine to blows a stream of air onto your eyeball and it measure the pressure of your eye.

Glaucoma elevates the pressure in your eyeball and the the fluid builds up until it can not drain...

Possibly your eye pressure was elevated and the doctor wants to retest and look at some other symptoms of Glaucoma. I would be concerned but don't get worried until he actually says you have glaucoma. There are medications, eye drops, that treat glaucoma. Even surgery can be preformed to help with the pressure if necessary. Key is catching it early

Don't worry. Just go to your eye doctor. Doctor knows best. Be sure to eat more fruits and vegetables. Don;t eat sweets, fatty, salty and spicy food. Bad for your eyes condition. Simple drink 10-15 glasses of water a day to clean your blood.
Have a nice day and GOD BLESS.

It's always a good idea to get the pressure in your eyes checked. They check mine every year but I also have high blood pressure and that can cause the pressure to go up.

No reason to worry. as on an evaluation process you will be monitored on a regular basis.
I have over quite a few years, and have been kept under the "eye" (to pun a phase) of the Hospital Eye Specialists, and by using one drop of medication each evening things are fine..at least you will be well looked after.

There are several testimonials of improvement with magnetic therapy. Do you know a Nikken consultant? Ask them about their Eye Mask.

I investigated their products for a couple of years and got an education.

glaucoma is raised intraocular pressure, detailed evaluation ,requires using a tonometry and measuring iop ,,visual field, fundoscopy too see optic disc and retina ,tri mirror for viewing angle ,its normal dont be worried
