Is there a chance that u loose ur eyesight if u have glaucoma but taking treatment?

i have glaucoma since i was young, but i take eyedrops (cosopt, lumigan), im a college student now and im afraid if ill loose my eyesight with getting older

yes, its still possible. even when your IOP is controlled and never goes up...there's STILL a possibility. not a probability, but a possibility.

make sure you keep on it. IMO most glaucoma patients probably need to have annual testing with a GDx. thats the most cutting edge glaucoma technology IMO:

It is always a possibilty if the pressure is constantly unstable. The constant high pressure on the optic nerve is very damaging. Have you talked to your doctor about getting surgery done to relieve the IOP? This is always a possibility.

Yes, there is a chance. Not all cases of glaucoma can be successfully stabilised, even with best treatment.
But it's far from inevitable.

Provided you are having regular checks on your pressures, visual fields and optic nerves, and using medication as directed, there is nothing else you should be doing, or avoiding, to improve your chances.

*If* your visual fields do worsen there are a range of different eye-drops available that can be employed and, beyond that, a variety of surgical techniques to improve drainage from the eye.

It is still possible, the drops help control the condition-there is not cure for glaucoma
