Lamictal causes Glaucoma? |
I was on this drug for bi-polar disorder called Lamictal for a year. I was on 200mg twice daily. I have not been able to continue taking it due to financial reasons and because I moved away from my doctor (its hard to find doctors you trust and to take off from the full time job - and afford it for that matter). I have noticed flashes of light, blurred vision, dyslexia, memory loss, and anger. It did help my bi-polar disorder, so I did not stop taking it. However, I just recently made an appointment with the eye doctor to get checked. Last April ( I belive it was around that time) I went to the eye doctor and he told me I have an extreme amount of pressure in my eyes which MAY lead up to glaucoma. He instructed me to get checked, however money did not allow. I tried to figure out what it could be and thought it may be the medicine. I slowly weened myself off of it, but the effects are lasting. Could the melanin binding and retinal toxicity from the medicine cause this? talk to a lawyer. |
