The ocular pressure in my eye is under 20 Hg. Do I need eyedrops for glaucoma?

No. Normal eye pressures range from 10 Hg to 21 Hg.

No usually it needs to be about 32 for you to go thru all the glaucoma tests and even after that you may not need them. If you have a history of glaucoma in your family then you need to go to an Optometrists office and get an exam just to ease your mind!

IOP is really meaningless without additional data. Some people have glaucoma with "normal" pressure, some don't have it with high pressures.

Have to agree with Squatchi.

Your eye pressure has nothing to do with the health of your eye, it's only a marker the Dr. uses to watch for change. I can have a pressure of 25 and have absolutely no problem, and I've seen patients lose their sight with pressure in the teens. You need a qualified ophthalmologist to do a glaucoma workup and tell you if you have any optic nerve damage/ visual field loss. Don't take any chances, there are no symptoms with glaucoma until the damage is done!

Squatchi is correct. However, if you want your eyes checked, DO NOT go to an optometrist, go to an Ophthalmologist. I used to work for one.
