Glaucoma - pressure levels?

My father was diagnosed with this many years ago and now takes regular medication after having an operation to relieve the pressure behind the eye. I have had my eyes checked and been told that my eyes are "on the limit" and to be checked again in 4 weeks. My scores were 21 for one eye and 22 for the other. I am a 49 year old woman. Does anyone know whether this is particularly high? I live in Spain and am considering going to the GP anyway just to get it double checked.

The tests will need to be carried out again, and if you go to an eye unit in a hospital they may be more accurate than the optician. The pressures can fluctuate and you are wise to get it checked regularly. I know they say there is nothing you can do, but I read recent research that said regular exercise can help lower the pressure. Source(s): http://www.wddty.com

Quit eating pork. It does need to be replaced with something though-my guesses are ox and lamb but I'm not sure ox is Kosher; I think there is one more necessary when the babies start growing fast and needing Kosher things but not sure of what the 3rd is
When my friend was having trouble with this, 18 was considered the goal for her medications. Since glaucoma can cause blindness, I believe it would be best to see an Ophthalmologist - an MD who specializes in eyes. He's the one who would treat it, anyway.
Normal eye pressure can range from 15-21mmHg but eye pressure can vary and for some people pressure of over 21 can be normal.

You would probably be considered borderline but because of your family history should take care.

The descision to review in 4 weeks would seem appropriate but you should seek a second opinion if you are worried
