Since glaucoma is almost 100% genetic, with what race of people did it originate?

Just curious, both me and my mother suffer from it.

glaucoma is not 100% genetic.. yes it has the tendency to run in some families.. but patients do develop glaucoma without any family history..

besides there are hundereds of types of glaucoma.. each with different etiology and heriditary patterns..

it is true that glaucoma occurse more commonly in black races and is usualy more severe and more difficult to treat in blacks... but in what race did it start..u can't really seek such an answer.. Source(s): I am an ophthalmologist..
who did a lot of research about glaucoma..
interesting
the black community suffers from this type of condition, and it's generic.
First question should be WHEN did it originate. As glaucoma occurs in nonhuman life forms including dogs it would be safe to assume that it predates ANY racial subgroup.
