Is glaucoma a type of cancer?

I overheard a person saying that he had glaucoma and that that was a type of cancer in the eye. Is this true?

I don't think so.
I think is more to do with pressure building up and cutting off the optic nerve, causing blindness. If caught early it is easily treatable with medication.
If you have a history of glaucoma you should get checked every year by your eye doctor.
Are you sure your friend didn't say 'blastoma' or 'sarcoma'?

no not a cancer! but i think it's linked to diabetes!
NO NOT AT ALL! it is a problem witht the pressure in the eye, my son was born with a rare type of it.
