I have glaucoma can amoxcillain affect my eyes?

i was told that amoxcillian can cause people very poor side effects, i have ms and arthritis, can anyone out there give me advise

Hi, the class of antibiotics called tetracyclines can (rarely) increase the intracranial pressure and put pressure on the optic nerve and cause some vision problems. Doxycycline is an example of an antibiotic in this class. However, the antibiotic you wrote about belongs to the pennicilin class of antibiotics. Never heard of amoxicillin being contraindicated for people w/ glaucoma.
I have personally given it to people w/ glaucoma.
Amoxicillin has no effect on glaucoma. If you're interested in adverse effects, I can help you with this. The most common adverse effects are nausea and diarrhea. Less common adverse effects are lethargy, hallucinations, anxiety, confusion, agitation, depression, dizziness, fatigue, vomiting, glossitis, stomatitis, gastritis, enterocolitis, abdominal pain, black hairy tongue, interstitial nephritis, nephropathy, vaginitis, anemia, eosinophilia, hemolytic anemia, an overgrowth of organisms not susceptible to Amox and hypersensitivity reactions such as a rash. The life-threatening adverse reactions are seizures, pseudomembraneous colitis, thrombocytopenia, thrombocytic purpura, leukopenia, agranulocytosis and anaphyalxis.

None of these adverse reactions - common, less common and life-threatening - will affect your existing conditions. If your doctor prescribed it, why are you second-guessing the doctor? Take the med, it's safe. The most you're likely to have is diarrhea.
