How much period of time should pass when 1 have to put 2 different eye drops for glaucoma in 1 eye? You should ideally wait from three to five minutes between administration of different eye drops, this gives it time to be absorbed. Shouldn't it say on the bottle? However long you need. about 3-5 minutes Imran, Glaucoma is the accumulation of liquid in the eye ball. There is a valve at the entry point and there is another at the exit point of liquid into the eye ball. When the exit valve does not function properly the liquid that comes in does not exit - thereby increasing the liquid pressure in the eye ball, which in turn keeps on pressing the Optic Nerve which gradually dies as a result. What the eye drop does is to open up the exit valve. At times some people need more than one type of drops to open the valve properly. So when you use one type of drops give it sufficient time to send out as much liquid as possible. Most pharmcists recommend it to be 5 to 10 minutes. Please also remember - when you put a drop into the eye the surface of the eye becomes full with that liquid. You must wait for that to be absorbed and the excess to pour out. If you insert another drop soon after the first, the second drop will just pour out without giving the medicinal benefit. Do not also insert drops soon after washing your face as the water will be in the eyes and the medicine will just pour away. Wait for the water to dry off. Give it also about 10 minutes. |
