If i had Gonorrhea, Syphilis, HIV, HPV, Chlamedia, AND Herpes, BUT......?

If i had Gonorrhea, Syphilis, HIV, HPV, Chlamedia, AND Herpes, BUT i used protection with my GAY MALE partner, what might be the possibility of transmitting any of these to him?

(i'm a VIRGIN, NEVER had sex. i do NOT have any of these diseases. lol. i'm just curious to know if you could still prevent passing it on to your partner!!)

and i know, it sounds a little childish asking this. but still, i'm curious if you could still protect yourself even with EVERY disease.

For the bacterial infections - gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV, and chlamydia, as long as the ocndom was correctly used and did not break, pretty good.

For HPV and herpes, the protection would be pretty much non existent. In a study of college students tested for acquisition of hpv over the course of several years, there was no detectable difference between those who used condoms consistently and those that didn't.

For herpes, the standard rate of protection quoted is 40% at most - both herpes and hpv are viral infecitons that are transmitted skin to skin and condoms do not actually cover much of the genital skin. Many men catch herpes while using condoms.

And remember you can also easily catch herpes from receiving oral sex. This also goes for the other infections - and you can get them in your throat from giving oral sex. The strains of hpv that are responsible for cervical cancer in women have also been implicated in cancer of the throat.

You have a one in five chance at least of contracting genital herpes in your lifetime, and a one in two chance of catching hpv.

You could reduce the chances using a condom, but not eliminate it.

Herpes is tough, in particular, because the infected area could be the whole groin and the condom wouldn't cover it all.

nothing is 100% you have to protect yourself the best way you know how, and currently it's with condoms. If I had to say I would tell you the a condom can protect you against Gonorrhea, Syphilis, HIV, and Chlamedia. But HPV, and Herpes are transmitted by skin to skin contact so no condom can protect you against that. Just be careful and know who you having sex with

I believe G, S, and C are all curable diseases. Therefore, after they have been successfully treated, you could have sex without transmitting them. HIV is not curable and can lead to death. HPV and HSV are not curable, but they are generally manageable conditions. Both H's are transmitted through skin-to-skin contact, so condoms, medication, and lack of symptoms are still not 100% ways to not transmit the diseases. Transmission can occur through oral sex as well. There is currently no FDA approved test for men to detect HPV unless there are visible symptoms (aka warts). The Gardisil vaccination for HPV is also only for women.

If you are a virgin, I am assuming you are probably too young to know if you are gay or not and may be questioning your sexuality. Regardless of your orientation, it is important to be careful to protect yourself against STD's. It only takes one, unlucky time to acquire an STD. Being promiscous isn't the only way to get STD's.
