When is it safe for a man to have unprotected sex with his wife after a diagnosed and treated gonorrhea infect

The man was diagnosed and treated for gonorrhea with antibiotics, symptoms cleared in 4 days, so how long should the man wait before he has unprotected sex so that he wll not infect his partner.
The man was NOT infected by his wife and the man did not have sex with his wife before or during infection.

Just wanted additional info: Did you give the infection to your wife or did someone else infect her? If she was infected by someone else are you sure you want to have unprotected sex with your wife. If you gave her the std, were you tested, how long ago, and what are your symptoms now.

Generally it is safe to say waiting at least 2 weeks should be sufficient before having protected sex to ensure you do not reinfect. I wouldn't recommend unprotected sex.

thats not true to the person who said that below me...it goes away for good after it is treated unless you are reinfected or you didnt take ur medication properly...im not sure on how long you have to wait but ask your doctor i just wanted to let you know if you didnt, that gonnorrehea is very treatable and you can get rid of it. Its the most common std in the united states, along with chlamidya

a better question would be why would you want to have sex with someone that has fooled around on you
