I tested positve for gonorrhea, but my boyfriend tested negative.?

How in the world is this possible? After I told him that I tested positive, he admitted too me that he had slept around on me. Once again, how in the world did he come up negative and I came up positive. I have not slept with anyone else...please let me know? Thanks!

I agree, he probably already treated himself and didn't bother to tell you. If he slept with you again, he will need to be retreated.

I sure hope he is your EX-BOYFRIEND now!!

well one of the girls he slept with must have had it & he is whats called a carrier and he gave it to you . i would think that as a carrier he would come up negative in a std test

He has either found out about it, got treated and is lying to you about it or his test was positive and he just told you it's negative(which it would be now if he already got treated.) And if he has or had it,I can assure you he knew that something was wrong with him because males have obvious symptoms when they have gonorrhea.

Some men with gonorrhea may have no symptoms at all. However, some men have signs or symptoms that appear two to five days after infection; symptoms can take as long as 30 days to appear. Symptoms and signs include a burning sensation when urinating, or a white, yellow, or green discharge from the penis. Sometimes men with gonorrhea get painful or swollen testicles

I hope you are getting treated because this disease can be very harmful to women and I hope you're now looking for a new b/f. Because if he'll do something like this and admit it to you, who knows what he might pass on to you next? The next time you might not be so lucky. Something to think about........

Untreated gonorrhea can cause serious and permanent health problems in both women and men.

In women, gonorrhea is a common cause of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). About one million women each year in the United States develop PID. The symptoms may be quite mild or can be very severe and can include abdominal pain and fever. PID can lead to internal abscesses (pus-filled 鈥減ockets鈥?that are hard to cure) and long-lasting, chronic pelvic pain. PID can damage the fallopian tubes enough to cause infertility or increase the risk of ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy is a life-threatening condition in which a fertilized egg grows outside the uterus, usually in a fallopian tube.

In men, gonorrhea can cause epididymitis, a painful condition of the ducts attached to the testicles that may lead to infertility if left untreated.

Gonorrhea can spread to the blood or joints. This condition can be life threatening. In addition, people with gonorrhea can more easily contract HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. HIV-infected people with gonorrhea can transmit HIV more easily to someone else than if they did not have gonorrhea.

Hope this helps!

There are only 3 things possible: either he is lying about coming up negative, or his test results were false negatives, or he has already had it treated or taken an antibiotic that made his infection already clear up. Since you haven't slept with anyone else, unless you were sexually intimate with someone else (even if you didn't "sleep" with them), then you definitely got it from him.
