Gonorrhea and clamidia question? |
So, about 3ish years ago I discovered I had gonorrhea and clamidia, I recieved treatment and I had these lovely STD's for either 1 or 2 months before I got rid of them. A few months later I went back to the DR. and got tested to make sure I didn't have them anymore and I didn't. While at the Dr. she said something about if I still had it that it could cause me to not be able to have children. So, if I had these STD's for up to 2 month, would that make it so I couldn't have children? is there a way I can get tested to see if I can have kids? Gonorrhea and clamydia both can leave scarring on the fallopian tubes and cause complications like PID. Although I'm sure there was minor damage done while you had the infections, the time frame before treatment was complete was fairly short and you shouldn't have any major problems. There are ways to test the fallopian tubes to ensure they are open, but they are expensive and they don't do them unless there is a problem. If for instance, you do try to concieve, and don't do so within a year- a fertility specialist would do it as one of the first rounds of the workup. Otherwise, for pure curiosity, no-they don't . Just try to relax about it if you can. The human body is pretty good at resisting damage, and repairing it, when it gets the chance. Gonorrhea was pretty rampant in the 60's and 70's, and the population doesn't seem to have suffered any major drops. You should be just fine. Consider it one ugly memory and hard lesson, and let it go. You can have your gyno check out your cervix/ uterus to see if there is a large amount of scar tissue that might prevent proper implantation by the egg. Sure, just call your OB/GYN they can examine you and run tests to see if your ovulating and if your fallopian tubes are free from obstruction. Stay regular on your Dr's appts. Good luck. OMG.. YOU CANT HAVE CHILDREN ANYMORE.. IF YOU HAVE THOSE STD'S FOR EVEN 2 DAYS.. YOU WILL BE INFERTILE!! SORRY .. STOP SLEEPING AROUND. |
