Can any type of antibiotics cure Gonorrhea?? Please help!?

My question is what type of antibiotic treats gonorrhea and chlamydia? I'll get tested next month, I just need to know does one shot of antibiotic cure both? I had a shot back when I was ill, and I also took oral antibiotics for about 3 weeks, but I'm not sure...

I don't know if my ex had any STDs, but we only used protection during intercourse.

# Treatment of Chlamydia - Is there a Cure for Chlamydia?
Chlamydia is simple to treat with antibiotics, either a single dose or a course lasting up to two weeks:
Treatment of Chlamydia:
* Doxycycline 100 mg 2-3 times a day for 10-14 days
* Zithromax庐 (azithromycin) 1.0 gm (4 x 250 mg) a single dose
* Zithromax庐 Z-pak庐 (azithromycin) - 500mg on day 1, followed by 1 tab (250mg) once a day for 4 more days
To avoid re-infection, any sexual partners should be treated too. Treating gonorrhea is advocated for patients being treated for chlamydia, and vice versa (50% have both infections together)
Treatment of Gonorrhea:
* Cipro庐 XR 500 mg a single dose, or
* Levaquin庐 500 mg a single dose, or
* Tequin庐 400 mg a single dose;
Once chlamydia has been successfully treated, it won't come back unless a new infection is picked up.

You need one type of antibiotic to cure gonorrhea, and another type of antibiotic to cure chlamydia.

In most parts of the world you need a shot of ceftriaxone to cure gonorrhea, and a dose of azithromycin tablets to cure chlamydia. Both these drugs are prescription only. Other antibiotics are sometimes used in different parts of the world.

IMPORTANTLY your partner or partners also need to have this treatment, otherwise you'll just get it back again next ime you have sex.

Penicillin won't cure chlamydia, or most cases of gonorrhea.

Lots of different ones work, most are penicillin based. The shot is to get a big dose for starters, then keep taking the tablets until they are finished...if you stop too soon the bugs will multiply but become resistant to the drug.

I do hope you mean the follow-up test next month!

first of all this is one of STD transmitted by illegal sexual relationship characterised by urethral discharge ,dysurea.
best antibiotics ciprofluxacin(750 mg) single dose for those patients over 18 years whilst those patient under 18 and over 10 years use combination of tetracycline 250 mg 6 hourly +metheprim 480mg tow tablets at morning and tow tablets at evening the treatment for both partners

Not any type can cure it. It has to be a really really strong dosage. It should of cured it when u got urs done, but the longer u wait the harder it is to cure it. Id go back really soon to have a check up.

There's one cure for any time of sexually transmitted disease.
it's called Abstinence.

'Course, if you're married to a person who's got it...I suggest that you go to your doctor and ask!

penicillin can cure gonorrhea and it also cures chlamydia (of course it doesn't work for everybody though, some people need more anti-biotics). but yes, one can cure both.

I think it takes Longer than three weeks but Chlamydia is mean ,,..... It could make you Sterile if not cured right away Kiddo

Probarly not, its like the electric bill, gonna always have it.

it's ok, plenty of whores get these std's and they still have a chance to get infected again.....
