Gonorrhea NEEDS treatment? |
A guy I slept with called and said he had gonorrhea. I called Planned Parenthood and said they could not fit me in (I'm 17) and drop-ins are difficult. I live in CA and I'm going in today after 3 and can I say it's urgent and I know I have it (I have vaginal itching/burning and stomach problems) and I need it to be confidential. I want it treated right away. Are there any other places to go if Planned Parenthood cannot treat me? Will an ER be confidential? I cannot have my parents find out. I also do not know my insurance. Please help. Find a OB-GYN office..or maybe an ER will do. So, are you trying to say you need to be accompanied by an adult to be fit into the PPH schedule? Confidentiality is important; I say go to an ER or a Urgent Care center. The guy that called and told you he had gonorrhea will probably tell you where he went to get treated. Kudos to him for even having the balls to call you. I admire that. But am sad that you young kids have to engage in sex acts with so much irresponsibility. Anyways good luck. Okay baby girl... a couple of issues here. Planned Parenthood clinics have more than one office. So ask for the addresses for the other locations. OR like in NY, there may be a public health station you can go to. Lastly, you can try a hot-line that will have to keep your identity and referral that they make confidential. Any ER. Yes, gonorrhea needs treatment. It can lead to pelvic inflamitory disease which can compromise your reporudctive tract andput you at risk for infertlity. Can you go to a gynecologist? |
