Does gonorrhea lay dormant for a few days before you see signs?

My boyfriend is experiencing burning sensations when urinating
the head of his penis is red and somewhat swollen @ irritated
there is some small white ***** stuffy coming out the head of his penis when he squezzes it. I on the other hand have no symptoms of and kind to suggest that I may have an infection.
I guess my question is what kind of STD are we dealing with?

It very well could be gonorrhea. You should both see a doctor.
maybe yeast infection (guys can get that) or a urinary tract infection. make sure he sees a doctor soon!
yeah he needs to see a doctor a.s.a.p. It could also be chlamydia.
Both of you should probably see a doctor. If he has gonorrhea, and if you're having sex, you probably have gonorrhea, too. Even if you aren't noticing any symptoms.

Untreated gonorrhea can cause serious and permanent health problems in women and men, including infertility.

Here's what the Centers for Disease Control says about it:

Although many men with gonorrhea may have no symptoms at all, some men have some signs or symptoms that appear two to five days after infection; symptoms can take as long as 30 days to appear. Symptoms and signs include a burning sensation when urinating, or a white, yellow, or green discharge from the penis. Sometimes men with gonorrhea get painful or swollen testicles.

In women, the symptoms of gonorrhea are often mild, but most women who are infected have no symptoms. Even when a woman has symptoms, they can be so non-specific as to be mistaken for a bladder or vaginal infection. The initial symptoms and signs in women include a painful or burning sensation when urinating, increased vaginal discharge, or vaginal bleeding between periods. Women with gonorrhea are at risk of developing serious complications from the infection, regardless of the presence or severity of symptoms.

The incubation time for gonorrhea is usually 1-14 days.

1/2 of women & 1/10 of men who have gonorrhea have no symptoms at all. Men are most likely to experience pain during urination & discharge from the penis. Gonorrhea symptoms in men can include white, yellow or green thick discharge from the tip of the penis, inflammation of the testicles & prostate gland, irritation or discharge from the anus, and urethral itch & pain or burning sensation when passing urine.

He really should see a doctor for this. Bacterial STDs, like gonorrhea, can cause permenent damage to reproductive organs, causing a person to become sterile if left untreated for a long time. If he does have gonorrhea, it's also a good idea for you to get tested as well. It's possible you may have it too and not realize it.
