Are there home tests for STDs such as gonorrhea, clamydia, and syphillis? |
I know there is one for HIV, but I was wondering if there is an over the counter test for these others? If so, how effective are they? Testing yourself at home is ridiculous. You can go to the local Health Department, fill out an anonymous, confidentail form, and get dirt-cheap, reliable results for 3-4 tests in less than a week. Or you could do it at home, pay anywhere from 10x-30x for the same tests, and wonder if you did it right and stare at the "results". Either way, if one of the tests comes out positive, you're going to have to go to a health care professional anyway. You can't prescribe yourself antibiotics, even if you knew which ones to prescribe. Do yourself a favor: take a little responsibility, a little maturity, and go down to the Health Department to get checked out. Nobody is going to point and laugh at you for being responsible.
