HOW to ask my man to get tested for HIV and STDs?

I'm 22 and i'm a virgin. I've dated this guy for a year now. I plan to remain a virgin (no penetration) until marriage but i'm willing to get intimate with my boyfriend. The thing is i want to ask him to get tested for diseases before we do it.

any help?

That's pretty harsh to ask that after a year. Signifies no trust for an individual. Same thing Janet Jackson asked for Tupac before they filmed Poetic Justice and of course Tupac did NOT comply because he was insulted. Hope it's different in your case.

Well, hon, here's how I told my boyfriend. Maybe this will help. :)

"I just wanted to let you know that I went in to get tested to make sure that I'm clean, because I think it's an important thing to be sure of before getting intimate. I trust you when you say that you think you're clean, but I'd really like it if you would get tested, just to be certain. I know it's probably not necessary, but it would make me feel a lot more comfortable."

If he truly loves you:

All you have to do is talk to him about it and ask him to.
Tell him what's going on. Why you want him to get tested. Make sure you remain calm no matter how frustrating the situation gets. Keep the room a positive Zone.

And make sure you get tested too. So you know what's up, along with talk to him alone.

I think it's GREAT that you are taking this precaution. Now a days everyone should (wish I had) Anyway, just be straight forward with him. If you've been with him for a year, he knows you are a virgin. Let him know you feel you are ready to take this next step. If he loves you then he shouldn't have a problem in protecting both of you.

Tell him that You are a virgin and for your sanity you feel that before you become active the both of you can show you have clean bills of health. You take the test too just for him to feel comfortable about doing it.

Just tell him that you want to be responsible about it and keep you both safe. Reassure him that you won't think any differently of him if he has something, but that it's still important to know and get treated if he does, in fact, have something.

Never compromise your values. If he loves you enough to marry you, he will love you enough to be tested.
