Blood Donation - will they notify you if you have HIV ??

My friend and me are debating, since we cant find the answer. If someone donates blood and afterwards when they take it back to the lab it is tested for HIV and West Nile. Will the Red Cross notify you that you are infected and wont let you donate again? Or will they not tell you and just trash the blood??

The UK Blood service checks for all major blood-bourne diseases including HIV and West Nile, and would definately inform you if there was a problem.
They will notify you.
They will tell you.
I don't know that answer for sure, but I would think it would be the moral obligation of the Red Cross to inform the person that their blood tested + for the above diseases. A very good question.
It generally depends upon the agency and also to some extent the adminstration of that branch. But if u will go and enquire they shouldnt refuse
they will surely

ur address is there on pack
they will tell you,so that you will never give blood again!
