Question regarding HPV? |
Hello guys, im 16 years old and in health class we are talking somewhat of HPV and tomorrow we will have a class discussion so i would like to know more about it, so sorry if i sound stupid or anything. Can a girl get HPV if the guy uses a condom? Also what about if the guy had an HIV/STD test and came out clean, can you get it? Could you guys explain me. Thanks. 5+ to the best respond. kk but like im still confused if the guy had a STD test and it came out clean, does he have HPV or not? HPV is the human papillomavirus. It's a nasty little STD that can cause cancer in females. Condom use does significantly reduce the risk of HPV, since you can only get it by swapping body fluids. But most guys don't use condoms properly - so there is still a risk. HPV usually doesn't have any signs or symptoms, especially for guys. HIV is not related to HPV - they are two different viruses. So even if you know you don't have HIV, you could still have HPV. no protection protectes 100% only abstinence! as for hiv or other std's they might not show up right away; for example I work wih a nurse that was stuck with a needle of a patient with hiv and she had to have a series of tests done a certin amount of time inbetween to make sure she was o.k, she was! be smart!!! Yes HPV can be transmitted even with the use of condoms. There is lots of skin contact between the woman vulva and the base of the penis. HPV can be transmitted without penetration just from hand to genital sex play. HPV can be transmitted to the oral area through oral sex. HPV is a very common virus; in fact, it is estimated that 80% of women will contract the virus by age 50. There are more than 100 strains of HPV, with approximately 30 affecting the genital area. These 30 strains are divided into two groups: 鈥渓ow-risk鈥?HPV and 鈥渉igh-risk鈥?HPV. Low-risk HPV cannot cause cervical cancer; however, it may cause genital warts or minor cell changes on the cervix that disappear on their own. High-risk HPV has the potential to cause harmful cervical cell changes. If left untreated, these changes may develop into cervical cancer. |
