Hpv & genital warts? |
Right now I have been told I have hpv with genital warts. I haven't yet had the pap or hpv test(will be Jan 3). Are there any other reasons that you would get genital warts other than hpv? If my warts go away or are removed, can I still pass the virus to my partner? Or do I have to have a clean pap test before not being contagious? What about oral sex or kissing or fingering? Oral sex on me is off limits, right? Kissing should be fine too?? As long as he doesn't come in contact with the warts? Can he get the virus if he fingers me? Only if he touches himself afterwards? Rendaln: I am married and have been for 6 1/2 years. Hpv is something I could have had for many years. Genital warts are the most common sexually transmitted disease. Genital warts are just that, warts that are in the genital area. Most are not even seen. Can you have the warts removed? Yes. is it possible that they may come back? Yes. Can you pass the virus onto your partner after they have be removed? Yes. There is no cure for HPV, soo you will always have it. Don't confuse HPV with Herpes. You can still have oral sex, i bet you are glad to hear that. Genital warts are passed through genital to genital contact. Hopefully this answers your questions and calms your fears, but if you have more talk to your doctor. I have included a link from the cdc for more information. Your better off waiting till the virus is completely gone before you have any sex. Everything fine when warts are absent, but avoid contact when they are on the up. once the warts are gone, they may end up coming back in the future so you and your partner should get tested every 6 mos or so...good luck and as long as the pap is normal then i guess you're fine... He could get the virus on his hands if he fingers you..As could you.. yes, it can be passed to your partner. You get this STD, when you have physical activity with someone else that has it If you haven't had the test yet, then how do you know you have it. These are the questions you need to ask your doctor. Or look it up on-line. am sorry i don't knw much about that good luck O MY!!!! congratulations now you know why you should not have sex before marriage maybe you should share your experience with your friends they shared it with you. Sorry that you have had this diagnosis. You should avoid ALL sexual contact until told by a doctor that you are not contagious to others. Since it is a virus, there are too many possible ways of transmission to be sure what is safe. As to simple kissing, again, since it is a virus, best to ask your doctor. you will always be able to pass it along to someone else, even if there are no symptoms at the moment! HPV is for life. It is the only virus that causes genital warts. Even when you don't have the warts, you carry the virus. It is highly contagious and you will have to get regular pap smears in order to identify any neoplastic growths. (That is just fancy talk for newly growing cells.) They can be cancerous and it is important to identify changes in your cervix early. I am sorry. I'm sure your GYN doctor can answer all your questions. I do believe a strain of the HPV virus (11 or 6) is causing your genital warts, though sometimes you can have no symptoms at all. I would highly avoid any sexual (genital) contact until you are cleared to by your doctor. I would treat this like a cold sore and just stay away until its gone. To answer your questions: your disgusting do not listen to the douche bag above me ok hpv IS genital warts. and yes you can still pass it if its not treated. get them frozen and/or burned off. only way they will go away. and yes you can still kiss. no oral sex while theyre still present..or fingering for that matter. |
