Ok so I got told today that I'm positive for high risk HPV. My doctor did a culposofy today and found a lil

something on my cervix that COULD turn cancerous. I will have another pap smear and culposofy in 3 months. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

and i understand HPV isnt curable but as long as you keep on top of things you can catch it right?

I think you mean Colposcopy...I haven't but i have had lots of friends... Your doctor caught it quick so even if there was something wrong, they could deal with it right away. Most girls dont go at all.

Try not to worry... MILLIONS of women have "cancer cells" and nothing ever happens! Just go back when your Doc tells you too!

Most strains will clear up on their own...so you can relax. I think its 1 in 4 women will get this diagnosis at some time or another and it can be caught even if you had sex with condoms. HOpefully yours will go away soon but listen to your doctor and get retested as soon as he or she suggets.

Yeah, stay on top of it. He might've been able to remove all the bad stuff with that procedure, you'll know with the lab results & the next colposcopy. Good Luck.

after you have a baby all the cells and stuff like that comes out with the after-birth. I think doctors enjoy scaring the sh*t out of people. I had three abnormal pap smears, and a colposcopy and after I had my son I have had two normal pap smears since nothing was wrong your pregnant. Just keep getting paps done and get the colposcopy done and it will probably be nothing!
