Anyone tested positive for HPV-precancerous cells?

my doctor just called and said i did =(

A very close friend of mine faced this in here early pregnancy. Everything turned out fine...they did alittle extra testing after the baby was born and it turned out to be nothing. She just has to be SURE to get her yearly exams done to ensure the precancerous cell aren't turning into cancer!

80% of woman contract HPV throughout their lives. Go back for further testing. I tested positive 1 year ago. With 1 treatmen in office I tested with passing results and no sign of the HPV.
Good luck

I tested positive before I had my first child. went in and they froze my cervix and all that fun stuff. tested me again when I got pregnant a few months later and came back positive yet again. they couldnt do anything about it this time around because of my being pregnant, so they waited until after I had my daughter and that test turned out to be normal. not to mention every test there after has come back normal and I am 36 weeks with baby #2. every woman is different, I dont know what happened in my case, but I hope all goes well for you.

yes I tested positive early in my pregnancy with my daughter 7 years ago, they did the cryofreeze, which the froze my cervix and I have had negative paps since then, make sure you follow up, it could go away on its own or you may need a procedure done. either the leep procedure oe the cryofreeze. Good luck, just stay on top of it.

I did about 4 years ago and I had to go back in and have further testing (I was not pregnant then). I ended up having cryosurgery on my cervix to remove the precancerous cells. From then on I had to go in every three-four months for repeat PAP smears until I got 4 normal results. Every now and then I have had abnormal smears come up and have another Pap smear and usually it comes up normal. I always keep my fingers crossed and stress about this part of my doctor's visit. If you are pregnant usually they wait until you deliver the baby to provide further treatment because the labor and delivery of the baby will wash away the abnormal cells. I would talk to you doctor and see what you options are.

yes, it took me about 6 months to get rid of but everything turned out fine

I had a + last year. My results were pretty grim. I was devastated as I only went to the Dr. to get the ok for me and my husband to start TTC. Boy was I shocked. I had to have a biopsy which DOES hurt no matter what your Dr. says. I was able to drive home myself but I don't think everyone could depending on your pain tolerance. After the biopsy I had to have Cryo surgery, which is where they freeze the cells off your cervix. I had 2 treatments of that. Neither were painful. Cold and awkward but not painful. I then go the all clear but still had to see the Dr. every 4 months for a year and then I was able to cut back to 1 time every 6 months. Be strong and you'll be ok. Be glad that they caught it while the cells were still precancerous. Best wishes. Take Care.

I tested positive for HPV precancerous cells about 2 1/2 years ago. Went in to do the biopsy, still had them, went in for a LEEP procedure (not fun) but have had normal papsmears since. I go into the doctor today for my first nurses visit (i'm 7 weeks) and I'm nervous, hoping that things will be fine. It's a fairly normal thing though. Many woman test positive and things go on to be fine, just remember to follow up on it and keep getting exams as recommended by the doctor! good luck, and don't stress out!
