Hey can girls get HPV from fingering them selves with dirty hands?

my friend said that she thinks she hasit becus she started bleeding alot.she is also sexually active. I think something wrong with her belly..thas all...but how do u get hpv by the way..serious ans only plz

HPV does not cause abnormal bleeding, but other STD's can. Your friend needs to go to a doctor.

HPV is short for Human Papilloma Virus. It has many different strains. Some kinds cause warts that you can see. Other kinds don't cause any symptoms at all, but can cause cervical cancer. It is spread by skin-to-skin contact, which means that infected skin touches your skin and you get the virus. Remember: NOT ALL STRAINS CAUSE WARTS THAT YOU CAN SEE! In fact, while warts are embarrassing and a pain, the types of HPV that cause warts aren't the ones to be worried about. The types that DON'T cause warts are the ones you need to be concerned about, because many of them cause cancer.

There is no blood test for HPV, so even if you or your partner have been "tested", there is no guarantee that either of you is HPV free. HPV is usually diagnosed in women if they have an abnormal pap smear.

So, to answer the question: The short answer is yes. If your friend touched a person who has HPV, and then immediately touched herself, it is possible that she could get HPV that way.

HPV is the most common STD out there, and it can cause cancer, so please make sure to tell your friend that she should be getting an annual gynecological exam done. If she's too embarrased to see the gyno, then she needs to stop having sex for a while. HPV can be easily treated if it is caught early enough, but if it turns into cancer, she could lose her ability to have kids or even her life.

HPV is generally sexually transmitted although exactly where it comes from I'm not sure - logic dictates it should be in the environment somewhere. Thing is there are numerous HPV's out there so it's possible, but that sounds like something else.

Recommend a doctors visit if she's bleeding as it could be an STD, or something entirely unrelated (assuming she's not due her period). Worth having it checked out however.

she just needs to go to the doctor, and tell her to wash her freakin hands! that's nasty.
