Teens or adult men only. I am trying to help you. How much do you know about HPV regarding your gender?

I am sure by now you have heard the term HPV. Tell me what you know. Then google the word and see if your educated..
Can men get cancer from HPV?
Is it becoming one of the leading causes of oral cancer?
Can it cause as many cancers of the upper throat as tobacco and alcohol?
Can a man be a carrier and have no outwards signs?
Can it cause penile & anal cancer?
From 1973-2004 the rate of oral cancers rose steadily.
Men more than women are in more denial about such things as we women have tests more often.
Now go do your research, it can save a life!!

i dont know much about it..actually nothing..but i am educated on the dangers of having sex without protection and pre marital sex to begin with..abstinence is key here

My gender is "masculine", my SEX is male. Did you really mean to ask about the virus and my sex?

I just discovered you can get throat cancer via oral sex w/ someone who has hpv

Can men get cancer from HPV?- Yes, but its rare
Is it becoming one of the leading cases of oral cancer?- I dont think so.
Can it cause as many cancers of the upper throat- Nope
Can a man be a carrier and have no outward signs- Yes, though it is more difficult to pass on without any external symptoms
Can it cause penil and anal cancer- Yes but its rare

HPV= Human Papiloma Virus.
(Gential Warts)

I have never heard of a man getting cancer. Women can get cervical cancer however.

I would not be surprised if it is the leading cause of oral cancer in women and newborns.

Yes. A man can be infected for up to six years before showing signs of an outbreak.
(Characteristically tiny little "christmas trees")

1. Yes. Penile cancers (which are extremely rare, especially in circumcised men) and oral cancers. Anal cancers occur in both males and females who have passive anal sex, and occur about as frequently in such people as cervical cancer did before Pap screening became routine.

2 and 3. Probably not, although there isn't enough clear evidence to say for sure. Oral and pharyngeal cancers themselves are not that common, and while oncogenic (cancer causing) strains of HPV are one cause, there are other causes such as smoking and alcohol which appear to be much more salient.

4. Yes, in fact neither men nor women usually carry outward signs of the oncogenic types of HPV. The difference is that women have a specific test (cervical smear or Pap smear) which can identify HPV infection.

HPV is an extremely common infection in humans. Nearly all sexually active people get them at some stage of their lives. However, the vast majority of infections do not result in cancer.

Because of the ubiquity of HPV infections, changes in sexual behaviour are unlikely to have much impact on their prevalence, short of lifelong celibacy or mutual lifelong monogamy.

Personally, I think the solution lies in developing better screening tests for anal and possibly oral dysplasias (like the Pap smear) and better and more widespread vaccination. If I had a pre teen son, I'd certainly be having him vaccinated against HPV, on the available evidence, even though it's not quite clear yet. [The vaccine has been approved for 9-15 year old males in Australia, but isn't currently approved in most parts of the world for males].

woman , thanks for notes , to tell you the trues ?!
