Omg i have to get the hpv test i am scared!!! does it hurt?

Yes it does, it hurts very bad and the pain will last for days. They will cut a part of your vagina off and send it to a lab for testing. Good luck.

if you're talking about the shot, i'm sure it doesn't hurt its a shot... and you're lucky that you don't have it already like half of the rest of the population.

it does hurt when they do it and it will be sore but not for days. expect a little bleeding/spotting for a few days too.

OKAY, THE HPV TEST IS JUST LIKE GETTING AN AIDS TEST.. HPV IS IN YOUR BLOOD ALL THAT THEY WILL DO IS WITHDRAW BLOOD JUST LIKE AN AIDS TEST THEN SEND IT TO THE LAB FOR THE RESULTS. IT DOESN'T HURT OR ANYTHING.GOOD LUCK AND HOPE ALL GOES WELL.....

The HPV test is not a blood test. It is a test done by a laboratory on a sample of your cervical cells, collected during a pelvic exam in the same way the Pap is done. In fact, the HPV test can often be done on the same sample collected for the Pap.

When a liquid-based Pap is used, the HPV test can be done on the same sample of cervical cells. Two different samples are not necessary.

If your doctor or nurse does a "conventional" Pap, cells are scraped from the cervix and placed directly on a slide for examination in the laboratory. That's why it's often called a Pap "smear." Because only one test can usually be done on this sample, a second batch of cells must be collected to do the HPV test. If this is done in the same office visit, it can be completed quickly and only adds a minute or so to the exam.
