I have had HPV and had a leep procedure done about a year ago, maybe a little more...haven't gotten a pap? |
smear since then. Do you think that there is a chance I have cervical cancer. I have an appointment to get a pap smear on March 3rd, that is the earliest they can get me in, but I am really scared. I do smoke...I have been smoking. How much does this increase my chances of having it? uhm...anything can happen once you've been diagnosed with HPV. Seriously..don't wait to get this Pap done. Go to your nearest Planned Parenthood and they should be able to fit you in within a day or two (at least the one by me does). Any results can be forwarded to your regular OB/GYN. I wouldn't worry too much, but there is always a chance. HPV increases the changes of cervical cancer, but that doesn't mean you'll definitely have cancer, just good luck and don't stress it if you have cancer they will just remove it with a different procedure and they will put you to sleep so you don't feel anything. it's an easy and fast procedure with little down time. if you ahve cancer it's just a little spot to be removed. no reason to be afraid. just DON'T smoke!! i had the same thing done 3 months ago! I was told I have to been in the every 3 to 4 month to get a pap done!! I do think there is a chance that its cancer by now! I get my paps every year like clock work! I went from last year of nothing to this year with stage 3 pre cancers cell! that scared the holy sh** out me! |
