Gential warts without HPV? |
A while back , my gynecologist diagnosed me with Genital Warts and told me it was caused by HPV. So she wrote me a prescription for Aldara cream and sent me on my way. But when my tests results came back to the gynecologist, I was negative for HPV. So how the hell do I have this ? That was about 8 months ago. The bumps are still there, and I have breakouts maybe every 2 months. I got tested again about three months ago for HPV and I was STILL negative. So, someone explain to me what's going on. If anyone has anything negative to say, I suggest you move on from my question. Well, I believe I had a biopsy done, that rings a bell. But I'm not sure. well i am assuming when you say that your HPV test came back negative that you are talking about a pap smear. a pap smear can only detect cellular changes caused by hpv on the cervix. there currently is no way to detect the hpv virus in the outer tissues, you can only detect the physical changes (i.e. warts) It might not be genital warts? |
