HPV and child birth?

I recently found out that i have a form of HPV that's not deadly or harmful. I do not have the type that causes cervical cancer nor does it cause genital wart. I am almost 5 month pregnant and was wondering if the virus could be passed to my unbrn child during pregnancy or child birth, if you have any information please help.

No I have HPV, they found it when I was pregnant 2 years ago. I had an emergency c-section with my son but only because I got extremely sick. The doctors were going to let me have him naturally if that would not have happened. If it would have been passed on to my son they wouldn't have let me do it.

i had hpv also and they will put you on an antibiotic drip in your iv when you go in to have the baby...... but understand that from about 8 wks afterwards they will do all the things that they can to get it gone- I had the LEEP procedure which worked on me.....4 years and have not had another abnormal pap smear since!!! check into that and see if that is an option for you....

HPV lives in the tissues of the skin, so yes, it is possible that you can pass the virus to your child during childbirth.

Talk more with your doctor about it - there are 100+ different types of HPV viruses out there, and most people are asymptomatic for warts, etc - unless you know which strain it is specifically, I'd talk with your doctor more about it.

HPV is usually completely harmless and passes through your body without event.

Here's a link with some info. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, I would not worry about it.
