After 18yrs same partner, normal paps. Now new partner and +for HPV. What are the odds + from new partner? |
I am concerned having a new sexual partner has done this to me. I have always had yearly paps with no problems. Should my ex- and my new partner be seen by their physician? There is no male test for HPV currently. It is possible that either one could have given to you b/c HPV can lay dormant for some time. However, it is far more likely that your new partner has given you this. Unfortunately, HPV is a widespread virus that many males have and do not know they have, so they spread it. The only thing that needs to be done is you need to keep getting tested and tell your new man he may have HPV so if things don't work out between you two he should be careful. If you have slept with your old man since, you need to tell him the same. |
