I recently found out that I have hpv. Is it still safe to continue to try and get pregnant??

I found out that I have hpv but I have been trying to get preg. for over a year. Is it safe to continue trying?? I know that I have the high risk hpv that could cause cervical cancer, as far as I know I do not have wart. I know that hpv is very common so I am sure there are some ladies out there who have went through all this stuff before any helpful advice would be great.... Thanks!!

Yes you can but there are alternatives with birthing and things like that. Just ask your doctor.

The wierd thing is that in my health class we are talking about this today. my health teacher told me that people with hpv ussually get a c suction. They dont want to pass the infection to a baby in order for the baby not receive the virus....
i guess i can say in my advice i wouldnt.

I suggest to get all those problems sorted out before you get pregnant. I had HPV but internally years ago but never had it on the genitals usually its the other way around. But I had the op called dithermia under a local usually it is done under a gerneral because its uncomfortable but a relative had it done under local and suggested it she said it was piss easy and it was. Plus you don't want it to be passed on to your bub. And I am trying to have another bub as well its frustrating hey cos you want it to happen straight away. Patience is a virtu so they say.
Don't worry it will happen but get your girly bits sorted first...and good luck they say not to vacuum under your bed to get pregnant...old wived tales

i had hpv show up on my cervical smears but no warts as well. Hpv has many forms and alot of them are not sexually transmitted or show up as genital warts. I also have a 6 month old son.. when i fell pregnant i told my midwife about my hpv and she was not phased by it at all and i had a completely normal pregnancy, delivery and a healthy, heavy boy... so good luck in getting pregnant and if you are really worried i would urge you to ring a midwife and talk (they usually dont mind!) just to put ur mind at rest

What was the answer when you asked your gynecologist?
