How do you catch HPV? |
The cervical cancer strain? I heard its skin-to-skin contact, not intercourse. Can you get it from hugging or kissing or oral sex? What does skin-to-skin mean? I also heard animals have it, what if your dog or cat licks you? Or if you shake hands with someone? First, I don't even want to go down the path of "the dog licking you." I'm assuming you're meaning casual dog-affection contact, so I would say NO there is no risk. i dont think you can get it from youre animlas licking you yes you could get it from oral sex and it could be spres by kissing but unlikely hand shak not but hand washing is good any way HPV is usually the cause of your not treating other STDs. Some STDs form HPV. In addition, men can carry the strain but obviously never have it and in turn can give it to you. You will not get HPV from domestic animals or shaking someone's hand; however, good hygiene as well as the HPV vaccine are great ways of minimizing your chances of getting HPV. HPV is the same thing as genital warts. You catch it through intercourse. There are many strains of HPV, you have to go to the doctor to get it scraped out of you or off of you in order for the wart to be tested. Animals can catch many different STDs, but I have never heard of a human catching one from one. You can only catch a common wart, like a planters wart by coming in contact with one. Examples would be, wearing the shoes of someone who has a wart on their foot. It too is a virus, but does not harm you in any way other than giving you a nasty wart on your body that can sometimes be hard to get rid of. Any kind of sexual contact that involves the genitals touching each other. |
