I have HPV, can I still use the pill? |
I have high risk HPV, the kind that causes cancer. I was so shocked when my doctor told me that I forgot to ask if I can still take the pill...b/c I know that it can also cause cervical cancer if used for extended periods of time. So will taking the pill and having HPV make my chances of getting cancer even worse?? I don't know of any reason that you can't take the pill. However, if you don't use condoms, you will infect your partner, who will infect his next partners, etc. etc. etc. It's not responsible to keep the chain going. Pretty sure you can still use the pill. Ive never heard the pill can cause cancer. Thats a new one for me. Make sure you are getting your PAP smears regularly. I think you are probably on a 3 or 6 month thing? You know, instead of only getting them once a year. Don't miss your appts. Call you doc and ask about taking the pill too. yes you can use it. it has nothign to do with hpv. but don't use it for long periods for example more than 3 years, because you would have a high risk of developing breast cancer. |
