An HPV question.... might be dumb... but Im worried?

okay... so I know I might sound dumb asking this if the answer is no, but Im pregnant and this kinda worries me.

so I have a cousin with HVP and she recently used my chapstick right before did (she told me after I used it). She said it would be okay, but I wanna feel more sure.

Question is: could the virus have been in or around her mouth and possibly been passed to me by the chapstick??

Ive already had a pap smear and I came out negative on anything, so I didnt already have it...

please make all answers constructive. THANKYOU :D

No, you can not get HPV this way. HPV is transmitted from skin to skin and typically likes the epithelial cells in genitals. However other strains of HPV can cause such things as plantar warts.

thats actually a good question bc there are all types of hpv viruses. but i have never heard of it being passed from the mouth. u should consult ur doc to be on the safe side. and congratulations on bein pregnant

No! There's absolutely no possible way, especially if you're talking about genital HPV... HPV is only spread through contact with the infected area. It does not infect saliva or skin anywhere else on the body.

Also, you probably have HPV already. Over 80% of people have it. And being pregnant means you probably had sex without a condom, which raises your chances even more.

no, there is no possible way you would get hpv from using her chapstick.
