Can anyone answer some questions about HPV? I'm having trouble finding answers online.?

I found out that my last relationship with a girl whom I was sexually active with had HPV. She said she was treated for it almost two years ago and hadn't had any probems since. I didn't know she had HPV and since she was on the pill I had sex with her several times unprotected.
My questions are: She never had anything removed, but she was aware that she had it. Since she did not have any problems with it for that long does that lessen my chance of having contracted HPV?
If I did contract it is it possibe to still have children without complications or effecting a woman who does not have HPV?
I hear that there is a test for men, but some websites said otherwise. Is there any testing for men?
I would seriously apprecite any answers or comments about HPV if anyone knows anything. Just email me if my questions are open ended.

it sounds like she is talking about the kind of HPV that causes cell dysplasia. Most sexually active women have been exposed to it, and in many cases their immune system will take care of it.

There is a risk that you can pass it on without even knowing that you have it. There is really nothing you can do but have protected sex and make sure she gets regular pap smear to look for anything abnormal.

here is the cdc website http://www.cdc.gov/STD/HPV/STDFact-HPV.h...

Currently there is no test for males for HPV. Moving forward,. there most likely will be. We all know that it is spread from men to women in most situations as men have now be referred to as carriers. You can have children. being a male if you have HPV. Most likely your partner will get the disease. HPV can pass transvaginally from the parent to the baby.

sorry to say but you may have it. go,, no run to your doctor. it has a different affect on men. so you wont hurt or anything, you'll just have it. you should be able to have kids but the woman you try to get pregnant may not b able to. it works differently in women. see your doctor. and god bless!!!

Her body may have rid itself of the HPV by now. I hope you can get tested.
