How often do you need to get a pap smear if you and your boyfriend have hpv and have sex regularly?

How often do you need to get a pap smear if you and your boyfriend have hpv and have sex regularly?

I have high risk HPV, so I get a pap every 3 months. If the pap comes back normal, I think it is fine to push it back to every 6 months. However, if you don't have a high risk strain of HPV, then the annual pap should be fine. I would rather have to deal with the unpleasantness of a pap than to find out I have cervical Cancer later on down the road.

You should get a pap smear yearly. If you have HPV, you might need to get checked more than once a year. Talk with your Dr about this as it's important to your health as well as your b/f's health. Good Luck!!!!

depends on if you have hpv symptoms---different strains. if you know you have hpv, im assuming your doc told you this. they should have told you how often you need to do it. call them up.
