Is HPV orally Transmittable? |
I had oral sex with a friend of mine last month and well, she just now told me that she had an HPV scare back in February and never got a clear answer on if she was positive or not. Well she just told me tonight and I'm scared. Yes. HPV can be transmitted through oral sex. dont know how i came about this question. but YESSS it can be passed orally. if you have oral HPV you can get cancer anddd the warts in there. good luck!! they say at some dentists office they have tests that can ck for precancerous cells. expensive but some have it. good luck! Report Abuse most definetly. I know a girl who got vaginal herpes from having oral sex. Her partner had oral cold sores. At the time, he didnt even have them on his lips but was shedding the virus. So now she has genital herpes from his oral herpes. Its very contagious. My exhusband had cold sores and he could often tell when he was going tohave a breakout a head of time (prodomes). He would tell me and we would refrain from sex until he got better. We wouldnt kiss either. Your partner has to be honest with you about it and its so comon now a days. You can continue to have sex just she has to take caution. She can always take suprressive therapy daily to prevent future outbreaks or can take it when she knows teh cold sore is coming on. Chances are that if she told you she had scare, she probably has it. People are often ashamed to admit they have an std or some wierd thing related to sex b/c its so stigmatized. Its not that bad as long as there is honesty. My bf and i have been together now for over a year. I have genital herpes for the past five years. He hasnt caught it yet b/c im honest with him and we use protection when i feel it coming on and take my meds. However, there is no guarantee b/c you can stil pass it on when you dont even know it! He loves me regardless! Im very l ucky! yes |
