Are cancer cells the same thing as HPV? |
Are cancer cells the same thing as HPV? no.- Cancer cells are regular cells that have mutated and are now growing independently and not with a goal of helping the overall body. They are dangerous because they overwhelm the body's healthy cells. Coming from someone who had HPV, I don't know anything about warts!! Seriously, the most common types of HPV are most commonly found through abnormal pap smears, where the cells of the cervix have small abnormalities. HPV is considered a STD but not the STD's your thinking of. Funny thing about HPV is only men can spread it. Most of the time, its undetectable in males, which thru intercourse, pass it to the female. HPV is a virus that most of the time, goes away on its own, as did mine. If a test is performed and the results are positive for HPV there are treatment options for getting rid of it, before it can spread into cancer cells, which are all at a different level (5, I believe) but can be treated before they reach critcal cancer level. no hpv is the virus that can give you cervical cancer. if you have high risk hpv and your body can not get rid of the virus you can develop cervical cancer and your doctor can detect it from changing cells in your cervix No HPV is a virus. It infects your cells and makes warts. |
