How did HPV affect others prenancys?

Went for my check up at the doctor yesterday. Said I have HPV and pre cancer cells. Was wondering if this would effect my pregnancy and how? In Feb. I had them froze but apparently they are back. No Gential Warts or anything just the pre cancer cells.

I had a cryotherapy (freezing) procedure done in 1990 at the age of 19. My next smears came back normal so I started my family and had a baby in 1992 and 1995. Then in 1997 the abnormal cells showed up on a pap again. In between the pap and the notification of abnormal cells returning, I became pregnant. I was terrified during the pregnancy that it would do harm to the baby. Thankfully it didn't, but between the time I found out and treatment was over a year (I had to wait until 3 months after the baby was born to let my body heal). I had the LEEP procedure done and have had normal paps ever since (10 years now). I went on to have 3 more happy healthy babies after the LEEP.

P.S.--The procedure did not cause cervical weakness for me, and all 3 of the babies that I had after the LEEP were full term, and a few of them even very late and induced. The only lasting problem was some scar tissue forming, and all of my labors stalling at 3cms. Since I had epidurals with just the last 3 anyway they gently stretched my cervix manually, and I went from 3 cms. to delivery within an hour.

Beware of the LEEP procedure. This makes the cervix very weak and can cause premature births. My sister had this procedure performed for her warts a year before she became pregnant with her first child. She delivered him at 24 weeks. Her GYN neglected to tell her this can be the result! Request a second opinion before any future treatment and make sure you explain to you new doctor that you want to have children in the future. Your cervix needs to remain fully intact.

I was diagnosed with mild to moderate hpv. During my pregnancy the doctors kept a close eye on it giving me paps and colposcopy every couple months. By my last pap I showed no signs of any abnormal or pre cancerous cells. My doctor said that it could of been because of the thinning of my uterus. At my six week check up I still had a clean pap.

i have had the leep procedure and not had any problems..in fact problems are more likely to come from a cone biospsy. its true that doctors dont know who an incompetent cervix will effect you would normally need much more then on leep procedure for it to have an effect on carrying a baby to term.

having pre cancer cells will not affect your pregnancy aslong as you dont have any worts you labor and pregnancy should be normal

my best friend was diagnosed and got pregnant 3 months after treatment. she had no problems/complications during pregnancy. she did have to have a c-section but it was not because of hpv, just a long difficult delivery. Good luck mama!! Everything will be ok!!

After becoming pregnant I also showed no signs of abnormal cells.
