Can you get HPV with no history of STDs?

Or if your parter has never had an STD, or if you have never had a parter?

Human papilloma virus can be transferred by touch(like warts on hands etc) but not all that easily. Whenever genitals/fingers infected with HPV come in contact with your genitals/cervix, you can possibly "catch" it. But bear in mind, cervical cancer and/or cell changes can occur WITHOUT being infected with HPV or even if you've never even had sex.

HPV is transmitted by touch. Just because you had unprotected sex and didn't get an STD like gonorrhea or chlamydia doesn't mean you can't have HPV.

There are also many different strands of HPV, some will give you warts and others put you at risk for cervical cancer. Since some of the strains don't effect a guy like it does a girl, they may not be as rigorously tested and might not know they have it.

Your best bet is to get tested and then get vaccines to protect yourself. If you come up positive you can keep others from affecting you.

Also a large majority of the sexually active population has HPV (close to 80%), it's quite common.

It's possible to get all sorts of viruses and even STDs without sexual contact. Simply shaving with a razor used by an infected person can give you an STD.
