Do you think sex would be alright if you have hpv with protection?

if you wear a condom, if you have hpv would that be alright.also is there a cream to use with a condom if you have sex to use around genital area for protection?

i've been living with hpv for about 7 years now, been happily married for 5 years. i'm on a fast track to cervical cancer but our sex life is fine with condoms. i don't know of any creams or anything, that would be interesting to know i think. but hes remained hpv negative, with the use of condoms. :)

Condoms do reduce the risk of transmission of genital HPV types but condoms do not give 100% protection in preventing the transmission of the virus.

You can transmit the virus even before your partners dons a condoms during hand to genital sex play.

Inform partners of your virus.

鈥?Genital HPV cannot be entirely prevented by condom use.
HPV can be contracted from one partner, remain dormant, and then later be unknowingly transmitted to another sexual partner

Genital ulcer diseases and HPV infections
Genital ulcer diseases and HPV infections can occur in both male or female
genital areas that are covered or protected by a latex condom, as well as in
areas that are not covered. Correct and consistent use of latex condoms can
reduce the risk of genital herpes, syphilis, and chancroid only when the infected
area or site of potential exposure is protected. While the effect of condoms in
preventing human papillomavirus infection is unknown, condom use has been
associated with a lower rate of cervical cancer, an HPV-associated disease.

There are many different strains of HPV. You need to talk to your doctor about what is going to be best for your situation. If you have visible warts, even a condom may not be enough protection. Talk to your doctor.

Men can contract the disease, but it does not create any symptoms, only women can get cervical cancer. As long as you do not have the kind that produces warts, you should be fine with condoms.

This is something to ask your doctor about to get the best advice. You don't want to mess up and give your partner an std.
