I have taken 2 of 3 shots for the HPV vaccine and we're trying to get pregnant. Should we skip the 3rd shot? |
I am 25 and studies have shown that there are no effects for women 26+. We have been trying to get pregnant for about a month. The 3rd shot is due to be taken in August, but I hope to be pregnant by then. Anyone else run into this issue? I agree I would go ahead and get the last vaccine before TTC and then wait the recommended timeframe (ask your Dr what that is). Please talk to your doctor, you should NOT take the vaccine if you are pregnant! It can potentially harm the fetus. Plus when you are in your 1st trimester you have to be so careful on anything you take. If you go to the Gardasil website it states under important information not intended for pregnant women. My personal view... The HPV vaccine is so new that while there have probably been many tests to find out what the effects of it are in different circumstances, they can never fully test for everything. I would finish the shot series, give it a month or two and then start TTC. |
