How come they say that if your male partner has had numerous partners it increases MY chances of HPV? |
how does that work? there are no tests to check if a male has HPV, so you're not going to know since not all strands can be seen. therefore, the more partners your guy has had, the greater his chance of having contracted HPV from other girls. I just tested positive for HPV a few weeks ago and I am still trying to digest the news and make some sense of it. I was married to a man for over 10 years (the only one I ever slept with without a condom up until now). I went for regular paps and always fine. Well, a few months ago I had surgery and then last month I went for another routine pap, only this time it came back abnormal and positive HPV. I don't know if I got it from my ex or from my fiance but it doesn't matter, it just means I have to see doctors way more often now to make sure it doesn't turn into cancer. condoms are not 100%, they don't protect stds that take skin to skin or genital to genital contact in order to be transmitted. he could have forgotten once or twice if he was drunk or at a party. if he doesn't have anything now then he is extremely lucky or has a very strong immune system. or could be a carrier for some of the stds which means that he could have the stds and show little to no symptoms of them. also not all stds are coverd in an std test. if one of his past partners had an std in the past then he could have gotten an std from them, then he could pass that std onto u. because when you have unprotected sex w/ your partner, you're having sex w/ every partner he's ever had...even that one time when he was real drunk in college and...you get the idea. He may test clean but these things are not always discovered w/ tests. Promiscuity is not a really good idea. 1 out of 4 teen girls today has an STD. there are many different strains...and to answer the woman that had it from the husband with 10 years...my doctor told me that was possible too...you can get HPV off a toilet seat even! (skin to skin to skin contact). people with stronger immune systems can fight it off... my doctor suggested folic acid supplements... |
